The quickest, easiest way to get results. But for any achievement in this life that is actually worth it, there's no such thing as easy or fast. There needs to be hard work and consistency. There will be obstacles. Wins. Setbacks. Frustrations. Tears. More wins. And all of it before you actually see the first tiny result coming in. But here's the catch: hard work that's meaningless leads to burn out, but hard work that's purposeful work leads to fulfillment. A few years ago I quit my job to start my life over. I tried SO many things to reinvent myself. Always with the positive delusion that I could accomplish anything I wanted. The problem is, and that's why most things I tried failed, I also believed that it would be easy. So when something started to get hard, I had to reevaluate how bad I wanted it. Turns out, there weren't many things I thought were worth investing so much of myself in. So there's a lot of things I gave up on before reaping the reward of "hard work". Making money online for example. I fell so many times for all the markety messages promising that it was quick and easy. Well, surprise surprise, it's not. It's simple, but when you have zero idea what you're doing and start from no experience, it's not easy. I cannot tell you how many times I started a new online business from scratch when the one I was working on didn't bring results, yet. But when you give up one thing only to chase the next, expecting that it'll be easier, or that it'll be the magic solution you were looking for, you end up hitting the same walls, disguised in different tasks. That's called having the shiny object syndrome, and I used to have it baaaad. Now that I look back, I realize that it's only because I wasn't actually super clear on what I wanted. I was also evolving. So all these trials and failures, they actually taught me exactly what is worth spending my time on, and how to focus on the vision rather than the shiny object. Plus, I now have an out-of-this-world knowledge about online marketing, giving me a huge advantage for what I'm building. So everything I did and everything I learned actually lead me here. And now, I'm locked in. I also feel like I've found my calling(s), which helps tremendously. Took a bit more time that the average person but hey, everyone's on their own timeline. There's a certain peace that comes with knowing that you're working towards your dreams, and that, no matter how long it takes and how hard it will be, you're here for it. And you're willing to put in the work. Because truth is... there's no other option. I quit my job because I had a desire for more, and a sense that I wasn't aligned, even though I had no idea what that meant. Then I did what I had to do to find exactly what I was looking for: purpose. If there's one thing I could tell you if you're feeling a bit lost or restless, it's go find yourself first. The rest will follow. With love, MP xx |
A few years ago I quit my job, sold everything, and boarded a one-way flight with only a backpack, a journal and no plan. I figured out what I wanted, and now I am rebuilding my whole life and career. Give me your email and every week I’ll send you my thoughts and updates on the process.
If I asked you, at 5 years old, "what do you want to be when you grow up?", what would your answer have been? I guess mine would have been "Britney Spears". But as far as I can remember (pretty much 5 years old), I didn't know what to answer. Or, rather, I never dared to say it out loud. I clearly remember that I wanted to be an actress. But I was too afraid to put it out there. Which is wild... what kind of conditioning did I already receive — at 5 years old!! — to make me so self-conscious?...
You get home from work. Phone in hand, you drop your bag, take off your shoes and hang your jacket. All you need is to stare out the window for a minute, so your brain can recharge from the social interactions you had today. But then next thing you know, you've been staring at your phone for the past 30 minutes, standing in the hallway like a moron. Doom scrolling. Wtf? Because before you even made 3 steps toward the kitchen to pour yourself a glass of water, you've opened TikTok. Probably...
I dream of going on tour performing my original music on stage for my fans. When I'm seeing big artists I love like Miley Cyrus (now MILEY), Rihanna, Taylor Swift and more, and I am both really inspired... and also extremely overwhelmed by the gap separating where I am to where they are. I didn't grow up surrounded by people in the industry. Neither did I choose to pursue music when I was a kid. I did some piano lessons here and there, but that was it. And now, at 36 I have the desire, talent...
